Bike Commute Diaries: The Well-Heeled Cyclist

Heels? Yes. Platform shoes? Not so much. Comfortable and efficient pedaling is all about having a solid connection between the ball of the foot and the pedal. Pedaling in platform shoes is like typing in ski gloves.

    :) I like the photo, with the little herd of shoes next to the bike. It’s funny – I never think about the fact that the heel is essentially unused on a pedal.

      Thanks. The little herd are the shoes that don’t work so well on the bike. I was very disappointed when I realized that the clogs in the middle weren’t fun to ride in.
