It’s a nice bike, isn’t it. Do you have a basket too? The bike shorts are by Sheila Moon, who’s based in Emeryville (near Oakland). They come in both black and white.

I have the Public wire basket that’s mounted on the front rack. I use a tiny luggage lock to secure it most of the time, but can take it off if need be, which I really like!

Thanks, Joan. I really like wearing dresses, both on and off the bike. On the bike, they eliminate any issues with pants legs and chain rings. Even with a chain guard I find the pants get in the way. And off the bike, I find dresses more comfortable for sitting all day than pants, unless the pants are loose or stretchy.
How far is your commute?

It’s about 4 miles. All slightly downhill on the way there, and, therefore, all slightly uphill on the way back. I tend to wear skirts for work – I agree they are more comfortable and better than pants if I have to walk to a meeting and if it rains, I dry off a bit quicker than pants would. In the colder months, I’d rather bike in tights than pants – haven’t tried the high heels yet, though – I usually leave them all at work.

I love a 4 mile commute. Long enough to get warmed up, not so long that you have to worry too much about getting too hot.
I like tights in winter too, especially with boots. If you click on the “more photos” under the fashion shots in the right column it will take you to my Flickr stream that has winter fashion photos too.
