Detour Sign on Expwy Shoulder

With traffic going 45 mph on Central Expressway, it's a good thing this detour sign is small.

I’ve often run into these signs as well (I don’t mean that literally, fortunately). Good for you for documenting these examples of ignorance (at best) or utter contempt for bicycle riders.

They are a nuisance, at best, but sometimes are a real hazard.

But what can we do to prevent this???

I don’t know what we can do to prevent it. But we can call them in when we see them. Note that this particular one is on a shoulder, not a bike lane. So it’s not exactly the same situation as the others.
